PANGASINAN STATE UNIVERSITY (PSU) celebrated Research Development and Extension (RDE) Week Celebration on November 20-23, 2018 held at the PSU Convention Hall to highpoint the immense contribution of research to the society.

With the theme: “Role of Research, Extension and Gender and Development towards a Global PSU”, the event debuted through short film presentation regarding gender issues to the students and Gender Sensitivity Training for the students brought by the Gender and Development (GAD) Office.

The celebration was followed by an Extension Seminar and Workshop, and Research Symposium where student and faculty researchers presented their studies in various field like Engineering, Technology & Computing Studies; Education, Management and Social Sciences; Gender & Development; and Natural and Allied Sciences.

Moreover, four researchers were given the Recognition for Outstanding Academic Researchers (ROAR) award for their excellence in research in different fields. Dr. Frederick Patacsil was awarded as the “Outstanding Researcher in Engineering, Technology & Computing Studies,” Dr. Christopher Cocal was awarded as the “Outstanding Researcher in Education, Management and Social Sciences,” Dr. Irene De Vera was awarded as the “Outstanding Researcher in Gender & Development,” and Dr. Sotero Aban was awarded as the “Outstanding Researcher in Natural and Allied Sciences.

Likewise, the nine (9) campuses of PSU participated in a competition for the Outstanding R&D Unit where PSU Lingayen Campus was declared the winner.

The objective of the activity was to capacitate researchers to conduct high-impact researches that are publishable to international refereed journals along the categories: Education, Management and Social Sciences, Natural and Allied Sciences, Engineering, Technology and Computing Sciences, Gender and Development and Developmental Research.
