The Quality Management System being institutionalized in PSU through ISO 9001:2015 is part of the endeavours of the university in providing quality education and satisfactory service delivery to the most valuable clienteles – the STUDENTS.

VISION IS NOW CLEAR. Pangasinan State University (PSU) to greater heights in the ASEAN stage continues after it chronicled a history to be the first ISO 9001:2015 certified SUC in the region for the year 2016.

PSU led by President Dexter R. Buted celebrated with so much pride when AJA Registrars Inc. with General Manager Paul B. Bagatsing has attested that PSU passed the quality assurance audit held on December 14, 2016 for the coveted ISO 9001:2015 Certification.

PSU established ISO Quality Management System in adherence to the Administrative Order No. 161 or otherwise referred to as the “Institutionalizing Quality Management System in Government” amended by Executive Order No. 605 as part of implementation of the Government Quality Management Program.

Board of Regents of the university supported the endeavor through BOR Resolution No. 59E, s. 2015 during the regular board meeting on May 15, 2015. Further, Department of Budget and Management allocated a 3.5 million budget.

Quality Management Committee was spearheaded by Dr. Manolito C. Manuel as Quality Management Representative, Prof. Elbert Galas as Internal Quality Auditor, Mr. Alex Mores as Deputy for QMS, and Dr. Ruby V. Rosa Cruz as Document Control Custodian, together with other PSU Officials.

Imperative to the Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order No. 46, s. 2012 or the “Policy-Standard to Enhance Quality Assurance in Philippine Higher Education through an Outcomes-Based and Typology-Based Quality Assurance,” Quality Management Committee was responsible to the implementation and maintenance of the PSU Quality Management System for ISO certification.

Rosehall Management Consultants, Inc., an all-Filipino corporation engaged on Total Quality Management System training services, assisted PSU in preparation for the certification audit with the series of trainings, assessments, and consultations.

Along with PSU as SUC ISO certified are Jose Rizal Memorial State University, Catanduanes State University, Southern Luzon State University, Aklan State University, and Cavite State University.

ISO 9001:2015 Seal of Excellence is expected to be awarded to PSU, this 2017.

Furthermore, PSU is now eyeing to be a part of ASEAN Universities Network to commence a stronger portfolio to international ties.
