BEARING THE TORCH OF EXCELLENCE UP HIGH, Pangasinan State University-Lingayen Campus is again preparing for another milestone in its journey towards quality assurance as it subjects three programs for survey visit.
Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics, Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education were subjected to virtual local survey visit this June 15 (Tuesday) as preparation to the upcoming Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Survey Visit on August.
The main goal of the local accreditation is to check necessary documents such as Program Performance Profile (PPP), Compliance Report and other required document per area, making sure that 25% of the indicators in the AACCUP program instruments were already digitized.
As for AACCUP, these accreditation instruments are aligned to the definition of outcomes-based Quality Assurance as measurement, considering inputs and processes. Thus, AACCUP measurement of quality of programs and institutions include: System (inputs and processes); Implementation; and Outcomes.
Lingayen Site which was among the four sites in the university identified by the Quality Assurance Office, is facilitated by Dr. Amelita De Vera as Lead Accreditor and Area Chairs (Local Accreditor): Dr. Cristie Marie Dalisay for Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives; Prof. Maila Rosario Puzon and Dr. Madlyn D. Tingco for Faculty; Dr. Amelita M. de Vera for Curriculum and Instruction; Dr. Reynaldo Gelido for Support to Students; Dr. Larry A. Santos for Research; Dr. Ceilo C Fernandez for Extension and Community Involvement; Ms. Winona Joy Perado for Library Services; Dr. Robert Sison for Physical Plant and Facilities; Dr. Fernando Viray Jr. for Laboratories; and Dr. Ramil L. Dacal for Administration.
After the survey visit, local accreditors discussed their observations and recommendations in different areas to guide local counterparts on necessary documents to be submitted for review on actual accreditation.
“As lovers of quality, you should also teach our local counterparts to be lovable. Quality should be our bloodline and that’s why we are having local accreditation,” Dr. Amelita de Vera said to the local accreditors.
For past years, program accreditation is akin to an academic seal of approval which provides the assurance that a program meets the quality standard. As PSUโs commitment, almost all of the programs in the campus are hurdling program reviews and evaluations from time to time.
Moreover, the local accreditation is one of the best practices of the University to ensure that all programs subjected for AACCUP evaluation will pass and achieve higher accreditation status as full pledge to quality education- that for this, the torch of excellence up high will be seen by everyone.
