coe2Two flagship programs of Pangasinan State University in Bayambang and Binmaley campuses were granted by Commission on Higher Education (CHED) the Center of Excellence status in Region 1.

 

The Fisheries program of PSU Binmaley campus has been granted the Center of Excellence status along with University of the Philippines – Visayas, Central Luzon State University, Western Philippines University, Zamboanga State College of Marine Science and Technology and Mindanao State University – Naawan Campus issued last year of December 23.

Likewise, PSU Lingayen campus’ Teacher Education program also earned Center of Excellence status along with Saint Louis University and Mariano Marcos State University in Region 1 issued last March 31 in accordance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) 7722, otherwise known as the “Higher Education Act of 1994”, and by virtue of the Commission en Banc Resolution No. 193-2016 dated March 14, 2016 for the purpose of establishing COEs and CODs that will serve as potent catalysts for world class scholarships, best practices, innovative curriculum, research and extension and professional development in Teacher Education program. Included in the list are University of the Philippines – Diliman, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, De La Salle University-Das Mariñas, among others.

          The designation of the said COE for Teacher Education in Bayambang campus as stated in the CHED Memorandum Orders No. 17 series 2016 for Teacher Education is valid from April 1, 2016 to December 31, 2018 or until sooner terminated, revoked or cancelled for cause/non-compliance with the provisions of the relevant implementing Guidelines for the identification, support and development of COEs and CODs for Teacher Education. Likewise, the designation of the COE for Fisheries in Binmaley campus is valid for three years effective January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2018.
