13516290_1062915670422873_4213668964004485607_nPangasinan State University’s 37th Commencement Exercises has been a celebration of the adept and competent batch of 2016 in becoming a part of the larger society after marking a decade’s worth of burning coils and midnight candles.

Anchored with the theme, “Transformative PSUnians: Responsive to ASEAN Excellence”, the university produced 4, 378 graduates of whom COMELEC Commissioner Luie Tito Guia and 6th District Congressman of Pangasinan Leopoldo Bataoil  addressed on June 22 and 24 respectively to take a step and create the most sweeping change in transforming the society they live in.

University President Dexter R. Buted addressed the morning batch of graduating students of PSU Lingayen, Infanta, Urdaneta City and Alaminos City campuses along with the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) at CSI Stadia, Lucao district, Dagupan City.

On the other hand, Comm. Guia addressed the afternoon batch of graduates coming from PSU Asingan, Bayambang, San Carlos City, Sta. Maria and Binmaley campuses. Comm. Guia is the Chairperson of the Committee on Detainee Voting and the Committee on Voting by Indigenous people of the COMELEC. He also chairs the Commission’s Committee on International Relations and the Random Manual Audit for the 2016 Presidential Elections.

Moreover, Hon. Bataoil addressed the graduating students coming from the Open University Systems (OUS) and School of Advanced Studies (SAS) on June 24 at the Sison Auditorium, Lingayen. Bataoil is a Congressman in the 6th District of Pangasinan who ran unopposed, assuring the continuity of the high quality public service in his last and third term.

The said 4,378 students graduated from their respective courses in the doctorate and masterate programs of the School of Advanced Studies (SAS), Open University Systems (OUS), Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP), and in the various baccalaureate courses being offered in the different campuses of the university.

For academic year 2015-2016, 42 students graduated in the doctorate program both in Education (Ed. D.) and Development Studies (Ph.D.) from SAS and 24 students in Education (Ed. D.) from the OUS. For the masterate level, 66 finished their respective MAEd/MS and MDM courses in the SAS and 72 from the OUS in the same graduate programs.

In the undergraduate level, 3, 776 students graduated in their respective courses. The programs with the most number of graduates include the Bachelor in Secondary Education (BSE) with 813, Bachelor of Science in Business Management/Administration (BSBM/BSBA) with 695 and Bachelor of Science in Information & Communications Technology (BSICT) with 520.

Furthermore, Lingayen and Bayambang campuses rendered the highest number of graduating students with 1, 351 or 31% and 788 or 19 % of the entirety.

In the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP), 80 students graduated in the masterate level (MDM major in Public Administration) while 40 students finished their respective baccalaureate degrees in the different fields of specialization in teacher education, industrial technology and Fisheries.

The University produced a total of 19 students who graduated with flying colors, four of whom are magna cum laude from Lingayen campus while the rest are cum laude honorees from Bayambang with ten, Alaminos with two, Asingan, Binmaley and Lingayen with one each.
