Pangasinan State University-Alaminos City Campus (PSU-ACC) conducted the first phase of a Livelihood Training Project dubbed “Alaminos Longapao” at Brgy. Bisocol, Alaminos City, Pangasinan on August 16-17, 2018 and for phase 2 on May 24, 2019. Present during the said activity are Prof. Rene D. Cacho (College Dean of the Campus), Dr. Gloria Ducut (Chair of Business & Management Department), faculty members of the Department, and Mrs. Jocelyn S. De Vera (Extension Coordinator). Also with them are members of the community under 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program), Barangay Council members, and other housewives from the said   area. Longapao is derived from two delicacies “longanisa” and “siopao”. It is basically a meat bun with longanisa filling.  Instead of the usual meat for siopao, they made use of longanisa Alaminos to promote the local product. The objective of this training is to promote the Alaminos longanisa, as a substitute to the meat used in siopao and to educate the 4Ps to prepare the longapao as part of their    livelihood. For the second phase, there is a hands-on making of the colorful pao with Alaminos         Longanisa filling as the highlight of the said         activity.

The reason for changes in colors is for the people to be enticed as part of the marketing strategy of selling Longapao.  Present in the second phase are Dr. Gloria Ducut, Department Chair of the Business and Management Department, faculty members of the said department, and Dr. Jocelyn S. De Vera, Extension Services Coordinator.

During the closing, Brgy. Captain Bernardino Humilde was thankful to PSU-ACC for continuously conducting extension activities. He added that PSU-ACC will always be part of their barangay. Certificates were also given to the participants as proof of their training.
