Pangasinan State University Alaminos City Campus (PSU-ACC) organizes Adopt-A-Day Care School on July 10,11 and 16. Originally the said activity was scheduled for July 5,6, and 16 and was rescheduled due to inclement weather brought about by the Hanging Habagat.
The extensionists visited the office of the Punong Barangay of Bolaney Alaminos City since classes in the Day Care School were suspended due to heavy rains. Barangay Kagawad Dominga Racraquin and some staff welcomed the group of extensionists headed by DR. Armando D. Junio, Extension Coordinator, Faculty, and non-teaching, where they expressed their gratitude for the continuous blessings given by PSU-ACC to their Day Care Center. Furthermore, Mrs. Elizabeth Radoc of DSWD Alaminos is also thankful for the constant support of the institution to daycare..
The team conducted different activities during the 3-day program. Storytelling and alphabet reading were the activities conducted. Mrs. Chenee Marie Cacho, one of the said project’s proponents, shared her storytelling expertise with the children. The story was entitled “Si Carla at ang mga Gulay” which was localized into ” Batang Masisigla, Kumakain ng Masusustansiya”. The alphabet reading was taught by Ms. Jocelyn De Vera, extension coordinator of PSU-ACC.
Another part of the project is the donation of instructional materials. Meanwhile, the non-teaching staff and students help in the distribution of snacks to the pupils and technical work. Moreover, the Day Care Center and Bolaney Barangay Council also awarded Certificates of recognition to the extensionist of Adopt-A Day Care School and to the Extension Coordinator for their continuous support to the community. Lastly, Day Care Worker Lucresia Rivera and some parents thanked PSU ACC for their continuous support to the school. A certificate of recognition was also given to the school and to the extension Coordinator by kagawad Victor Racraquin and PTCA officials.
