Pangasinan State University’s nine campuses join the 33rd National Statistics Month Celebration with the theme “Boosting Our Country’s Recovery with Informed Decision, Better Policies.” The activity was held at the Convention Hall on the 10th day of October.
The Celebration officially started with the preliminaries. Afterwards, the Head of the Center for Statistics and Computing Sciences, Mr Bobby F. Roaring, gave the welcome remarks. An inspirational message was delivered by the Director for Research and Development, Dr Larry A. Santos. The statement of purpose of the said event was shared by Ms Andhee M. Jacobe, the Campus Head of the PSU Urdaneta Campus.
The nine campuses competed against each other in competitions, aiming to be the title holder for each event. Many of each campus’ officials and employees participated by cheering and supporting their respective candidates.
Despite being the youngest campus, the Pangasinan State University-Alaminos City Campus got two 3rd runner-ups, one in Essay Writing Competition by Ms Josephine Castro and another in the Oratorical Speech by Mr John Daniel Edades. Ms Jessa Dianne Ladia bagged 1st place in the Poster-Slogan-Making Competition. She will be representing PSU in the province-wide competition.
Indeed, this activity is a channel for reinforcing classroom lessons, allowing students to apply academic abilities in a real-world setting, and is considered part of a well-rounded education.
