In collaboration with Landbank Countryside Development Fund, Inc. (LCDFI) and the Municipality of Mapandan, Pangasinan, headed by Hon. Karl Christian F. Vega, Pangasinan State University โ€“ Alaminos City Campus (PSU-ACC) successfully implemented Project F.L.A.M.E.S. on November 14-15, 2024, at Tulagan Gym, Poblacion, Mapandan, Pangasinan. This initiative supports the university’s IKET (Inclusive, Knowledge, Expertise, and Technology Transfer) program, which serves as the overarching framework for all extension activities. Project F.L.A.M.E.S. seeks to enhance the financial literacy of local farmers, enabling them to make informed decisions that will positively impact their personal and communityโ€™s economic stability. The two-day intensive seminar, divided into four sessions, catered to 15 barangays within the municipality. Under the guidance of Dr. Carlo Genster Camposagrado, Dean of the College of Management and Technology, and the competent faculty members of the Business and Administration (BA) and Information Technology (IT) Departments, this project significantly enhanced the learning experience of the beneficiaries. Together with the College, Dr. Jocelyn S. De Vera, Campus Extension Coordinator, Dr. Christopher J. Cocal, and Maโ€™am Rose Dyan Sagun, insightfully delivered each session, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for all participants. Furthermore, Dr. Rosario DL. Valencerina, Executive Director of PSU Alaminos City Campus, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all the partners and stakeholders who contributed to the success of Project F.L.A.M.E.S. Mr. Melvin C. Villanueva, Mapandan Agriculture Officer, also reiterated the project’s importance, emphasizing the benefits it would bring to Mapandan farmers. The successful launch of this project has significantly empowered Mapandanโ€™s farming community and will surely contribute to the overall economic growth of the municipality.
