In partnership with the Local Government Unit of Bani, Pangasinan, headed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Facundo Falapox Jr, Mr. Jeffrey Pamo, Municipal Agricultural Officer, San Jose Barangay Council headed by PB. Roel Yagin, and the Philippine Educators’ Association for Community Extension (PEACE) Inc., the Pangasinan State University โ€“ Alaminos City Campus (PSU-ACC) successfully conducted a two-day training program on Salted-egg Making on September 2 โ€“ 3, 2024 at San Jose Multipurpose Hall, Bani, Pangasinan. The training was attended by local entrepreneurs and other aspiring business owners from the municipality.

The first day of the training started with an invocation by Ms. Amalia Ancheta, a faculty member of PSU-ACC. Welcome remarks were then delivered by Mr. Jolly Calisaan, from Municipal Agriculture Office of Bani. Afterwards, Dr. Rosario DL Valencerina, Campus Executive Director, delivered a message. Dr. Jocelyn Sagun-De Vera, the Campus Extension Coordinator of PSU-ACC, followed by stating the objectives of the training.

The participants were then taught the proper salted egg making techniques by a team of expert trainers led by Dr. Jocelyn Sagun- De Vera, Dr. Jim Aleta and Ms. Rose Dyan Sagun. Assisted by Ms. Amalia Ancheta and Mr. Hezekiah Austria with Maโ€™am Mika Cacho. The first day concluded with a training proper, and a grouping of the participants was tasked to present their outputs after 12-14 days.

Day 2 started with a recap of the previous day’s events. The highlights of the seminar is on Business Operations. The topics covered included Pagnenegosyo and the 4Ps of Business, Pagrerehistro ng Negosyo, and Pagpapaketi/Packaging and Branding. The resource speakers were Dr. Potenciano Conte, Jr., Mr. Raymond D. Platon, Jr., and Ms. Shyeleen N. Tugas, all faculty members of the Business and Administration Department of PSU-ACC.

In the afternoon, the participants then attended a continuation of the seminar training on “Pagpapalago at Pagpapakilala ng Produkto Gamit ang Makabagong Teknolohiya.” The resource speakers were Dr. Carlo Genster Camposagrado, Dean of the College of Management and Technology, Ms. Rosel Cruz, and Mr. Ruissan Ramos, all faculty members of the Information Technology Department of PSU-ACC.

The second day also included a workshop and presentation of outputs, followed by the participants’ reactions. Ms. Lilia Reyes, a representative from Bani Dacap Sur Farmer Irrigators Inc., expressed her gratitude for the knowledge she gained during the training. The training culminated with awarding certificates of participation and recognition to all attendees.

Mr. Hezekiah M. Austria, the Treasurer of PEACE Inc., delivered the closing remarks. He thanked the participants for their active participation. He encouraged them to apply the knowledge and skills they acquired during the training.

The training program was a great success and provided the participants with valuable knowledge and skills that they can use to improve their businesses.
