PSU-ACC hosted the quarterly disaster preparedness event enhanced with foot traffic system, earthquake, and bomb-threat drill on September 20, 2022, as part of the orientation week for A.Y. 2022-2023.
Most freshmen were physically present at the Purita Braganza Building Grounds to witness the simulation of various catastrophes discussed by the Bureau of Fire Protection-Alaminos City (BFP-AC) and the Explosive Ordinance Disposal and Canine Unit (EODCU).
The day started with an earthquake drill wherein the BFP-AC evaluated the performance of the students when conducting the routine and discussed them afterward.
Moreover, the EODCU is back on campus to discuss the preventive measures, laws, and types of bombs that with the new batch of PSUnians. They brought various explosives and showed the PSUnians how they burst and the cautions when they encounter a bomb threat.
These disaster preparedness drills and orientation are conducted quarterly under the lead of Campus Executive Director Dr. Jenylyn V. Oboza and Campus NSTP, PE, and Sports Development Coordinator Ms. Divina Abogado. Such an event attempts to raise awareness about unforeseen calamities while also encouraging PSUnians to take preemptive measures to minimize panic when the actual crisis occurs.
