To equip students with essential knowledge and skills for achieving financial independence, the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) students of Pangasinan State University-Alaminos City Campus (PSU-ACC) participated in a seminar titled “BFF: Business Operations for Financial Freedom” as part of the Economic and Financial Literacy Week, themed “Empowering Filipinos Towards Realizing a Prosperous Middle-Class Society Through Economic and Financial Literacy,” on November 26, 2024, at the PSU-ACC gymnasium.

Dr. Protenciano D. Conte Jr. opened the program with an inspiring message to motivate the students. This was followed by remarks from Angelo Assisten, Governor of the Society of Young Business Administrators (SYBA), who highlighted the seminar’s significance in shaping the financial futures of the attendees. Additionally, Mrs. Jocelyn S. De Vera challenged students to apply the lessons learned during the event to their personal lives.

Furthermore, the seminar featured two dynamic guest speakers who shared their expertise in finance and money management.

Mr. Ernest Reyes III, CPA, CIS, and Unit Manager at Sun Life of Canada Philippines Inc., delivered an insightful talk on personal finance. He guided students through practical strategies for saving, budgeting, and investing, emphasizing the importance of making wise financial decisions.

Meanwhile, Mr. Jefferson A. Ramos, CPA, MBA, and Tax Practitioner, who also serves as Dean of the College of Business Education at The Great Plebian College, tackled the growing threat of financial scams and fraud. His presentation was both enlightening and empowering, providing students actionable tips to protect their finances in a rapidly evolving financial landscape.

The seminar left a profound impact on the attendees, inspiring them to take proactive steps toward financial well-being. By fostering financial literacy among future business leaders, the event underscored the crucial role of sound financial decision-making in building a prosperous and thriving middle-class society.
