College of Teacher Education (CTE) faculty members of Pangasinan State University Alaminos City Campus (PSU-ACC) gathered for a Capacity Building Program on August 9, 2024, themed โElevating Educational Excellence: Foundations, Innovations, and Professional Mastery.โ Held at Miahโs Resort in Bolaney, Alaminos City, the event aimed to enhance educational practices and professional skills among teachers.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Christopher Cocal, President of the Faculty Association, followed by inspiring messages from Dr. Rosario DL Valencerina, Campus Executive Director. Dr. Ellen Grace B. Ugalde, Dean of the College of Teacher Education, then presented the participants, setting the stage for a day of insightful seminars.
The seminar proper featured a series of expert speakers. Mr. Lord Calumm Ocuaman, Coordinator of Culture and Arts, introduced Mr. Renz Matthew Notarte, Teacher III at Alos National High School, who shared valuable strategies on LET, TOS, and test-taking techniques.
Following this, Dr. Levi Jethro Balgua, Campus Executive Secretary, introduced Dr. Orlando L. Guerrero, Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division at the Schools Division Office of Alaminos City, who provided comprehensive insights into the Curriculum Matatag guidelines and policies, along with the required teacher competencies.
Mr. John Michael Salazar, Coordinator of Practice Teaching, introduced the speaker for the final session. Dr. Aleta I. Begonia, EPS for Kindergarten at the Schools Division Office of Alaminos City, discussed beginning reading skills, emphasizing foundational literacy.
The program concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Shella Marie Diocares, Dean of Student Services and Alumni Affairs, followed by engaging fun games that fostered camaraderie among the participants.
This event highlighted the commitment to educational excellence and reinforced the importance of continuous professional development for educators at PSU Alaminos City Campus.
