In a significant move towards community development, the PSU Alaminos City Campus has proposed a series of extension services aimed at enhancing the entrepreneurial and professional skills of the local community.
The proposal was presented during a Courtesy Call and Extension Services meeting with representatives from LGU Bani on April 18, 2024, at the Pasalubong Center Building in Bani, Pangasinan.
The proposed extension programs include the โAdopt A Community Projectโ, which will mainly focus on literacy training. Other strategies include building and sustaining start-up businesses, financially empowering start-up entrepreneurs, and managing events. The proposal also emphasizes the use of IT tools for entrepreneurial activities, computer literacy training for employees, and the enhancement of communication skills. A unique activity proposed is the production of salted eggs, a local delicacy.
The Gender and Development (GAD) Unit also contributed to the initiative by sending a Training Needs Assessment.
The delegation from the PSU Alaminos City Campus was headed by Campus Executive Director Dr. Rosario DL Valencerina, with Dr. Jocelyn De Vera, the Campus Extension Services Coordinator, and esteemed members of the campus officials, namely, Dr. Carlo Genster Camposagrado, Dean of the College of Business & Technology, Dr. Chenรฉe Marie Cacho, Chairperson of Secondary and Professional Education Department, Dr. Pauleen N. Camba, Chair of Hospitality & Tourism Management, Mrs. Shyeleen N. Tugas, Chair of Business Administration & Management, and Ms. Zara Jane B. Annudin, Coordinator of Gender & Development.
Representing Mayor Facundo O. PalaFox Jr. were Mrs. Genalyn Navata, Assistant to the Mayor, Mr. John Daryl Pamo, Tourism Officer, and Mr. Romel Dulay, Information Officer. They attended the discussion and expressed their support for the proposed programs.
The PSU Alaminos City Campus continues to build and foster strong relationships with local government units. Their collaborative efforts aim to provide valuable services and programs that enrich the community and promote sustainable development.
