PSU ACC graduating students were given a heads up on employment and career guidance in a webinar hosted by the Office of the Campus On-the-Job Training Coordinator on June 10.
Mr. Justine Lord Ramos, the Campus OJT Coordinator spearheaded the event named Pre-Employment Webinar and Career Coaching for the seniors to equip them on what to expect before their deployment.
Campus Executive director Dr. Jenylyn V. Oboza delivered an inspirational message for the students and wished them the best of luck as they embark to the last phase of their student journey.
The campus invited Mr. Mhel Gasper, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of the Department of Labor and Employment- Western Pangasinan Unit (DOLE) as one of the resource speakers to discuss about real-life employment scenarios. Another invited guest is Ms. Melgie Dela Cruz, Listing Coordinator of Kerby& Cristina Real Estate Experts to share tips on passing a job interview.
Mr. Melvin Stephen Anoc, a faculty member and the coordinator for the Center for Foreign Language discussed personality development while Mr. Brandy Celino, Campus Guidance Counselor discussed the work ethics. These topics are what the students must uphold in their training as they represent the campus and the university to their respective employer.
Furthermore, Mr. Ramos gave a brief orientation the internship guidelines for the semester. It was quite challenging for their part as the university transitions from face-to-face to online classes caused by the pandemic. Thus, this case brought the possibility of pure virtual on-the-job training to abide with the Covid-19 safety measures.
