Yesterday, November 16, 2023, a turnover ceremony was held at the PSU-ACC Purita Atrium with students, faculty, and non-teaching staff to welcome the new Campus Executive Director and honor the outgoing PSU-ACC leader of the campus.
Full-force students and staff celebrate the past while looking forward to the future. It is an honor and a privilege to be served by one of the university’s most powerful leaders. A leader who can instill wisdom and knowledge and inspire the souls of others.
Dr. Jenylyn V. Oboza worked as the Campus Executive Director at PSU-ACC for two years. Under her leadership, transformation and collaboration were built. Everyone can see the university’s expansion, which has served as an inspiration to many students. Many wonderful souls have been touched by her leadership.
Some people find her intimidating and difficult to approach, creating an image of her in our minds. When you look at her, she’s elegant and intelligent, as if there’s no dirt on her; her beauty is combined with wit. We are all mistaken in our perceptions of her, for she is the polar opposite of what we believe she is. A person who is approachable and down-to-earth deserves a higher position. A person who gives their best for the PSUnians ACC’s sake.
During the ceremony, she shared a wonderful keynote on what she had learned during her term as Campus Executive Director, which she shared with everyone. She struggled with doubt and fear, just like a normal person. Way back when she was new to the position, she grappled with her skills and capabilities, wondering if she’d be able to give what the PSUnians deserved in a service. Sleepless nights and a cloud of thoughts are what she experienced.
As students, we’ve realized that all of our difficulties are normal. All of our sleepless nights will be compensated for sooner. The jumbled and silly thoughts of the night will bear fruit soon. Dr. Oboza made us realize that our hard work would propel us forward. She has pushed people to achieve their dreams and aspirations in life, no matter how difficult the road may be. There is always a rainbow after the rain, as they say. As she began her journey, she taught that our humility and courage would serve as our passports to reach the top of the mountain of success.
Her tenure as Campus Executive Director has come to an end. She has now completed her journey and is embarking on a new adventure as Vice President for Quality Assurance at PSU Main Campus to serve many students. There will be no leaving; she may be leaving in terms of position, but not in heart.
A new beginning has arisen during the turnover ceremony as we bid farewell to our former CED. The passing of responsibility marks the start of new memories and beginnings. Dr. Rosario DL. Valencerina was welcomed as the new mother of leadership at the Pangasinan State University, Alaminos City Campus. She was Asingan Campus’s former Campus Executive Director.
We are looking forward to more success and the open box of opportunities that await our university in her hands. We are in awe of the leader who will lead us on a more exciting journey.
