The PRIME, the organization of the Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in Mathematics, held its first-ever seminar-workshop on Data and Statistics today at the Audio-Visual Room. The event, titled Understanding Data and Statistics for More Effective Decision-Making, aimed to teach participants from all year levels of BSE Mathematics how to use data and statistics in various fields. The theme of the event was โData-Driven Decision Making: Harnessing the Power of Information and Statistics.โ
The event was organized by the officers and advisers of The PRIME, Ms. Baby-Lyn O. Balgua and Mr. Fidel P. Manaol Jr. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Rosario DL. Valencerina, Campus Executive Director (CED), who gave an inspiring talk on being a mathematics major, Dr. Ellen Grace B. Ugalde, College of Teacher Education (CTE) Dean, who shared important points about the use of statistics in daily life and education, Dr. Melody C. De Vera, the resource speaker, and Dr. Chenee Marie C. Cacho, Secondary and Professional Education Chairperson. The organization expressed its gratitude to these guests for witnessing the success of the event.
The seminar-workshop used a blended mode of delivery as one of the resource speakers, Mr. Jomar P. Camba, was unable to attend the event in person. Instead, he delivered his lecture through a video presentation using Microsoft Power Point. The Governor of the organization, Mr. Melchor, Jr. P. Damasco, thanked everyone for their presence and effort in making the event possible.
