Communicators’ Society
The official student-organization of the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English at Pangasinan State University, Alaminos City Campus aims to: strive for the advancement of communication, literature, and linguistic study, particularly in the Philippine context; provide opportunities for academic, literary workshops, and contests, and other student activities with similar format and nature; conduct training programs on communication, language-related topics at pre-service level; communicate with other organization within and outside the Campus that are also engaged in such pursuit; and to encourage the participation of members of the Society at local, national, and international contests, seminars, workshops, and meetings on linguistics, language, literature, and/or mass communications.
Language Festival
The Communicators’ Society conducts an Annual Language Festival. This three-day program is composed of different activities and competitions prepared for the students. One of the highlights of this festival is the Search for Gods and Goddesses where students design their own creative costumes depicting the gods and goddesses in mythology. Other activities include quiz bee, dramatic monologue, extemporaneous speaking, and film viewing.

BSE-English Studes Present Research in International Research Confab
The Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSE) English students made a remarkable international debut in the field of research. The Labuan Research, Innovation, and Creativity Society (LaRIS) based in Labuan, Malaysia invited Miss Charmaine C. Pascua, CS Assistant Secretary; Miss Joyce R. Rabadon, CS Business Manager; Miss Erica Ann M. Ara and Miss Hazel B. Bacon; CS members to present their research paper during the 6th Creativity and Innovation Exhibition and Language Teaching Seminar (CAIELTS) held virtually last August 7, 2021.
With the guidance of their research adviser, Dr. Jenylyn V. Oboza, their paper entitled “Effectiveness of Code-Switching in Teaching English Language in Public Junior High School Teachers in Alaminos City” received positive remarks from faculty-attendees in various universities abroad.
BSE English students participate in Metro Manila Film Festival Awards Night
Selected officers and members of the CS attended the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Awards Night last December 27, 2019 at the New Frontier, Araneta Center, Quezon City where they witnessed the premier showing of the eight official film fest entries. These students also participated in the Metro Manila Film Festival Student Short Film Caravan and Workshop held at the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAG) San Jose Drive, Poblacion, Alaminos City, Pangasinan last March 23, 2019.
CS Pays Tribute to Faculty thru Cards and Bouquet
In line with the celebration of Teacher’s Day, the Communicators’ Society (CS) designed and sold greeting cards and paper flower bouquets to students. These were given to faculty members inside and outside the campus as an expression of their gratitude, love, and appreciation.
Proceeds of the fund-raising activity will be used for future activities and projects of the CS.
Rabadon and Cabalbag Clinch Top Awards in Debate
Two second year students from the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English program, Joyce Rabadon and Jessa Marie Cabalbag bagged first and second place, respectively, in the Impromptu Debate Contest in celebration of the 2019 World’s AIDS Day with the theme “Ending HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Community by Community”. Rabadon and Cabalbag were coached by Dr. Jenylyn V. Oboza.
This activity, participated in by public and private universities and colleges in the city, was initiated by the Local Government Unit of Alaminos City last December 4, 2019.
